Keep Your Head Up in the Rain

Aug 10 2005

I just recently got off the bus and watched as people placed their heads in a downwards direction as the rain fell. Instead of mimicking this almost instinctual action. I held my head up high. Looked into the rain and enjoyed it.

While I don’t think I’m the first person to coin this phrase it was a natural thought to me and I think it has greater implications when you think about other possible meanings.

Keep your head up in the rain.

  1. Ever heard about protecting your eyes?

  2. Yes. Yes, I have. I think you missed the point.

  3. So, this is meant to be philosophical? Then yeah, I suppose you got a point there. Any other that that, it’s pointless..

  4. Mac, if the thought of courage while it’s raining gives me strength it’s definetly not pointless.

Hence, I’m “keeping my head up in the rain”

  5. I once saw a quote from someone, I think it was a music producer, that went: Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet. These days the quote comes to mind when I experience the rain reaction; now I will think of this too… I may never step out of my doorway again!

  6. I always keep my head up in the rain. As long as I’ve remembered, rain has cheered me up. I could be depressed for some reason or another, and it would start raining, and I’d instantly cheer up.
