Every since they started putting gums and fillers and injecting more air (lowering the weight) I feel like I'm paying a premium price for sub-par product. It was terrible, nothing at all like the Breyers of old. Next time shopping I bought the Food Lion store brand ice cream. It was actually pretty good, much better than Breyers. This is their new Smooth and Dreamy low-fat version, and I have bought several containers and it is discolored, icy, and tasteless. I wrote to Breyer's and they sent me some coupons to try some cartons free, which I did. Their regular versions are "ok", but I am staying away from the low-fat cardboard, freezer burned blue carton variety. I agree with you about the blue box ice cream carton comment. It tasted like it had gone bad or like the cardboard box had somehow flavoured the ice cream. Swearing never to buy Breyers again, I couldn't pass up the recent sale and this time picked up their cookie dough product (I figured it would likely be made in a different factory anyways.) It wasn't and it had the same terrible taste. What in the world are they thinking? Do people like this new taste?!!!... What happened to Breyers ice cream?
